The reviewer is Bill Mitchell, designer and producer of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Golf for Palm OS, which at its release in 1999 was the world's first commercial-grade Palm game.
"Stand Alone is one of a select few developers to have begun Palm OS game development before 2000," said Mitchell. "They have had years to perfect their products, and it shows. While some Palm software is compatible with only one or a few types of devices, I've found Stand Alone games to be generally compatible across all Palm OS."
PalmGames.com, launched this spring, is already one of the most popular non-reseller review sites for Palm games. The firm contends this is because they offer something fundamentally different from online resellers.
"Resellers and search engines," said Mitchell, "are in competition with each other to provide maximum selection. The result is that such sites are forced to list mediocre or obsolete products. As the Palm platform has grown mature, the number of such suspect products has exploded, leaving a vacuum of simplified feedback on which products are worth trying."
